Freaknik, the roving party-on-wheels that took over Atlanta streets and parks during the annual college Spring Break in the ’80s and ’90s, is said to be back, according to the AJC. Only this time, it’s being billed as “family friendly,” something the X-rated event that was banned in 2010 never was.
A concert billed as the Freaknik Festival 2019 will take place June 22 at the Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood. Perhaps parent who partied at the original Freakniks will take their kids, but for college students, this year’s Spring Break will already have come and gone.
