NEWS BRIEF: Commuters challenged to improve air quality and win prizes

The Georgia Commute Options organization is spearheading efforts to improve air quality by spurring local commuters to help remove one million pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere by recording one million miles of “clean” trips. GCO chief Roz Tucker said in a press release, “We hope the Million Air Challenge inspires people to walk, bike, use scooters, take public transportation, carpool, vanpool and telework, instead of driving alone in their cars.” The challenge runs Aug. 16-27 and participants who log their trips can win prizes.
