NEWS BRIEF: Will Buckhead cityhood be on the ballot in 2022?

A bill to put the question of creating the city of Buckhead onto the 2022 ballot was signed by Sen. Clint Dixon (R- Gwinnett) at the Georgia Capitol on Aug. 27. Joining him at the ceremony was co-sponsor Sen. Brandon Beach (R-Alpharetta) and Bill White, CEO of the Buckhead City Committee. The signing is another step in the process of turning the Buckhead neighborhood into an independent municipality. Dixon is one of seven members of the Georgia State and Local Government Operations Committee, four of whom have shown support for the proposed legislation. ajc.com
