Stacey Abrams may want to challenge Gov. Brian Kemp for Georgia’s governorship in 2022, but the state’s ethics commission is reportedly trying to derail her unannounced campaign before it begins. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jane Barwick ruled on Thursday that subpoenas submitted by the commission for information related to Abrams2018 run for office were too wide-ranging and lacked specificity. Abrams staffer Lauren Groh-Wargo is quoted as saying, This was always a political fishing expedition.” ajc.com
