ATLANTA BELTLINE: The Southside Trail ribbon cutting ceremony, Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021
The first segment of the Atlanta BeltLine’s Southside Trail has officially been opened by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The multi-use trail runs 0.8 miles and extends the Westside Trail to University Avenue, west of the I-75/85 overpass. The segment, like other parts of the BeltLine, features a concrete trail that is accessible to wheelchairs, granite retaining walls, a stormwater management system, fiber duct-banks, lighting and security cameras, plus a new bridge for pedestrians over Metropolitan Parkway. Landscaping and trees will be installed this fall. beltline.org
