Stop using your phone to post about a crime and use it instead to call the cops. That’s the message of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms after social media lit up this week with buzz about an active-shooter incident at a Midtown high rise. “Social media... has received more information, quite frankly, than we have received through our 911 center,” Bottoms said. “So for us to be able to appropriately respond and assess, we just ask if you can put down your camera, put down your phone, call 911, and then allow us to do what we do.” A woman and a suspect both died at the scene. washingtonexaminer.com
