U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski is the only Republican member of Congress to support passage of a compromise voting rights bill named after John Lewis, the late civil rights icon from Georgia. On Tuesday, Murkowski joined Democrats Patrick Leahy, Joe Manchin, and Richard Durbin to present an updated version of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act after “months of bipartisan negotiations.” The new version allows broader state identification laws and expands voting access to Native Americans. georgiarecorder.com
