Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has ordered the mask mandate in the city to be lifted following an improvement in the number of COVID-19 cases. That puts Atlanta in the “Green Zone” phase of the reopening plan, meaning hospitalizations average between 50 and 200 and diagnostic test positivity ranges from 1 to 5 percent. A mask requirement remains in effect for all City of Atlanta facilities. “While we are certainly not out of the woods with the pandemic, I have always said the city will follow the science,” the mayor stated. “Businesses and other entities can still have mandates for their establishments. For the safety and wellbeing of our communities, I still encourage everyone to continue to wear a mask and get vaccinated.” atlantaga.gov
