A professor of criminal justice at Gwinnett College has been arrested on felony charges of shoplifting. Dr. Bruce Carroll was detained on Nov. 22 after authorities discovered he had visited a Target store on eight different occasions and then left with multiple items he never scanned. His hoard included a bed comforter and bedsheets, golf gear, a tank top, a champagne flute and wine glasses, washcloths and towels, socks, chocolate, and dog food. A former attorney and Fullbright scholar, Carroll is also chairman of the faculty for the college’s Criminal Justice Department. “It was definitely a surprise that he was a college professor and he taught criminology,” said Gwinnett County police spokesperson Hideshi Valle. fox5atlanta.com
