NEWS BRIEF: Vice President Harris urges voting rights legislation during Ebenezer MLK service
Harris on the offense for voting rights
Vice President Kamala Harris called on the U.S. Senate to “do its job” in passing voting rights legislation during Martin Luther King, Jr. Day event Monday hosted by Ebenezer Baptist Church of Atlanta. Harris was pushing for action to pass the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act. "We must not give up and we must not give in. To truly honor the legacy of the man we celebrate today, we must continue to fight for the freedom to vote, for freedom for all," Harris said. The Act would bolster voting by mail, prevent future restrictions on voting, and do more to strengthen overall voting rights. abcnews.go.com
