The aftermath of the March 2021 spa shootings in Atlanta is the subject of a documentary now in production. “One Day in March’’ chronicles how the Asian American and Pacific Islander community reacted to the actions of a white male who shot and killed eight people, six of whom were women of Asian descent, at three locations in Atlanta. The film, premiering on PBS in May, is part of a public media reporting initiative called Exploring Hate: Antisemitism, Racism and Extremism. Its director is Titi Yu, who says the incident “galvanized the Asian American community to speak up and speak out.” Executive Producer Gina Kim issued a statement saying, “With this documentary we hope to examine this troubling escalation of racism against the AAPI community, pay respect to the lives lost and impacted by the violence, and champion those coming together to fight against the hate.” hollywoodreporter.com
