NEWS BRIEF: Mayor launches nationwide search for new transportation commissioner
Dickens supports ‘safety for pedestrians, wheelchair users, cyclists and motorists
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is looking far and wide for a new Department of Transportation commissioner after the resignation — effective July 1 — of Josh Rowan. “I will be seeking a leader who shares our vision of a safe, accessible and equitable transportation system,” the mayor said in a statement from his office. “Atlanta is a city on the move, and we are busy building first-class infrastructure that supports safety for pedestrians, wheelchair users, cyclists and motorists.”
Before becoming mayor, Dickens served as chair of the City Council Transportation Committee that formally established the Atlanta Department of Transportation. atlantaga.gov
