NEWS BRIEF: State educators hire new overseer for DeKalb schools problems
Tanzy Kilcrease hired to stop the madness
In yet another fiasco for the DeKalb County School District, Tucker High students this week were forced to endure classes without the benefit of air conditioning. This follows the ongoing disrepair issues at Druid Hills High School and the controversial firing of superintendent Cheryl Watson-Harris.
The state Department of Education has just announced the hiring of Dr. Tanzy Kilcrease, the outgoing Chief of Staff of the Bibb County School District, as a Special Appointed Advisor to “work with DeKalb on the issues identified in our Corrective Action Plan, and to work on solving systemic operations issues throughout the district,” a press release reveals. cbs46.com
