‘Party no more,’ quoth Airbnb
A temporary ban on parties and gatherings in Airbnb rentals initiated last year is now permanent, the company announced June 29. The embargo “has proved effective, and today we are officially codifying the ban as our policy,” the website states. “This comes as we’ve introduced strict anti-party measures for the upcoming 4th of July weekend, where guests without a history of positive reviews on Airbnb will be prohibited from making one-night reservations in entire home listings.”
The company warns of “serious consequences” for users who break the rules, from account suspension to full removal from the platform. More than 6,600 renters were suspended last year for throwing parties, Airbnb says. Details: news.airbnb.com
