Startup Atlanta to honor “exemplars of Atlanta optimism”

The Startup Atlanta Ceremony will take place on Oct. 12 at Atlantic Yards

Andrew J. Young is to receive an award for lifetime achievement from
Startup Atlanta, along with tech pioneer Ben Chestnut, it was announced last week. The Oct. 12 ceremony will take place at Atlantic Yards.

Young co-founded fintech startup Greenwood in 2020 and is a respected champion of human rights. He served in elective office as Atlanta mayor and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Chestnut is the creator of Mailchimp, now owned by Intuit after a $12 billion acquisition. “The success of Andrew Young and Ben Chestnut reflects the spirit embodied in our event theme - Ready, Set, Rise,” said board member and awards co-chair Tony Cooper. “They are both exemplars of Atlanta optimism and Startup Atlanta is proud to honor them.” Details: metroatlantaceo.com
