The Emory College of Arts & Sciences has chosen artists Tamika Galanis and Davor Vincze as the second cohort of the Emory Arts Fellows Program for 2022-2023. The program “gives emerging creatives opportunities to build their practice while teaching courses that expose Emory students to ideas and techniques shaping the future of their respective artistic fields,” the announcement said.

Bahamian native Tamika Galanis is a documentarian and multimedia visual artist who will lead a course for the Department Film and Media Studies entitled “Experimenters: Carving Out Space for Us.” Composer Davor Vincze, artistic director of contemporary music festival Novalis, will teach “Sci-Fi and Experimental Music,” examining “the iconic music of popular science fiction while covering the basics of creating experimental and synthesized sounds for film and television.”
