Amazon Employees demand air treatment and fair wages

Amazon workers at a Doraville warehouse are still waiting for their employer to meet demands for a $3 hourly pay increase and additional time off after staging a walkout last month. But organizer Patricio Cambias, 29, told Atlanta Civic Circle the protest was simply an opening salvo. “Amazon has a robust union-busting plan,” he said. “But when it comes to direct shop floor action, they don’t know how to deal with it.”

Doraville employees, undeterred by inaction from management, are now talking with colleagues at other local Amazon workplaces about next steps and the possibility of future actions. “The only way to overcome it is to do it together,” Cambias said. “They try to divide us so much, but the dirty little secret is that we have the power,” he added.
