#NoBoysAllowed - Art Workshop for Women

​On Friday, June 23, TILA Studios will be hosting it’s second #NoBoysAllowed Art gathering and Workshop. Executive Director, Tiffany Latrice will be leading a two part workshop inspired by the work of trailblazing artist, Mickalene Thomas. Thomas is known for her large scaled 70s inspired paintings that are adorned with glitter and vibrant images of black women she has come crossed. She is also known for her dynamic composition which are inspired by her collage making process prior to her executing a large painting.

In this session, we will model our workshop after Mickalene Thomas’s process. We will develop a collage and then create a painting inspired by the collage.

Time: Doors open at 7pm and first workshop begins at 7:30pm.

​Cost: $20 to attend, all materials provided

• must RSVP to attend, only 40 slots available.

• Please note, we encourage you to take your time on this project. If you do not finish your piece, you can take it home and bring it back for our July Open Crit.
