Design of the Screen: Panel Discussion, 10:00am

This panel will discuss in-depth their various roles behind the scenes of production and the steps they took to acquire the skills and experience needed. Focus will be on the creative and artistic jobs in film, television and media, and how these areas contribute to the finished production.

Sound of the Screen: Panel Discussion, 10:45am

No story in film, television, games or on the web can be told without good sound! The panel will discuss the importance of capturing dialogue, background elements, working with actors, and how sound and mix can make or break a story. Concepts, techniques and fundamentals of marrying audio with the visuals and how important this area can be to telling a story.

Casting for Film & Television: (Webinar)

Seasoned producer and casting director, Erica Arvold will walk us through her journey in finding incredible talent for her projects, as well as how she started her career. Casting, which is often the deciding factor in the success of a film or show. It has many nuances, and we will discuss the qualities that will make you a success in this area. We will also find out what Erica looks for in new actors and what they need to bring to the table to get on the radar.

Business and Management of Film & Television: Panel Discussion, 12:15pm

Many important careers go un-noticed by those looking to break into film & television. We will focus on non-creative subjects, including budget, management, coordination and other roles that are essential to the success of any project. Panel will discuss and explain their individual titles, how they keep a production running smoothly, as well as what qualities and expectations they look for in their staff.

"INTRODUCTION TO WRITING FOR TELEVISION SIT-COMS" 8:00am

Chrystal Ellzy, Screenwriter(Tyler Perry Productions)

Chrystal will go over the basic steps of structuring a script intended for television or web comedy shows. If you are a beginner with little experience, or have written scripts, but want to learn the structure used in professional writing rooms, this class is for you.

  • Story structure, character development, exposition, using conflict, scene writing and dialogue.
  • The importance of a solid treatment and outline, using the three-act structure and how this streamlines the first draft.

  • Editing and how good writing is re-writing.
