The Pittsburgh Collaborative, an Atlanta-based civic organization, will host the “Art of Pittsburgh” fundraiser March 3, 2018, from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Pittman Park Recreation Center, 950 Garibaldi Street SW, Atlanta, 30310, in the historic Pittsburgh community. African- American lithographs, posters and small original works of art by renowned artists Gilbert Young and the late Carl Owens and books documenting the history of the Pittsburgh community written by Elder Richard “Moriba” Kelsey will be featured.

The Pittsburgh Collaborative, organized by Elder Kelsey, is comprised of Pittsburgh residents, business owners, neighborhood organizations and representatives from Atlanta’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities concerned with preserving the history and culture of one of the oldest African American communities in South Atlanta. Pittsburgh is documented as being founded in 1883. Proceeds from the show and sale will support projects and programming to include monumental murals and historic landmark preservation.
