Cost: Free

From the venue:

Community Connections is a USAID-funded program that offers three-week home-stay-based practical training opportunities in the United States for professionals from across the former Soviet Union and Serbia. GCIV seeks volunteer home-stay hosts for a Community Connections delegation of 10 visitors from Kazakhstan that will be in Atlanta August 4-25. The program includes doctors and nurses, government representatives, NGO leaders, and prison system officials who wish to learn about successful U.S. models for management and social support for TB patients. In addition to providing a private bedroom, hosts will need to help with some transportation and meals. Hosts are invited to participate in the professional day when appropriate as well as cultural activities with the delegation. If you are interested in being a volunteer host or have questions, please contact Emily O’Harris at 404-832-5560, ext. 15.
