From the venue:

Once upon a time, indie rock darlings the National crafted bucolic pop tones that hinged on a card-carrying, alt-country sound. The group went metro instead and its latest, High Violet (4AD), earned heaps of critical praise for the post-Big Star pop intimacy, slow rhythms and floating guitar perfected on the sleeper hit “Bloodbuzz Ohio.” High Violet dropped in May and the group, led by vocalist Matt Berninger's casual baritone, has been on the road honing its chops ever since.
