Pug Fest

Hundreds of pugs (and some of their owners) don costumes to celebrate PugFest the day before Halloween with the goal of raising funds for rescued pugs and pug mixes. PugFest, hosted by Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption (SERPA).After a pug paradewith rescued pet introductions at 12:30 p.m., the contests begin. First are the “best of” contests, including: oldest pug, farthest-traveled pug, curliest tail, most wrinkles, most gray, best kisser, best trick, most unique pug mix and longest tongue. Next, at approximately 2 p.m., is a costume contest. SERPA also hosts a silent auction, raffles, bake sale, professional pet pictures and pet grooming to help raise money for pugs in need.
