Renowned actress Brenda Bynum will read the Passion of Christ from the Gospel of St. Mark and Steven Darsey will lead the Meridian Chorale and the congregation in folk hymns from Georgia’s famous 19th century tunebook, The Sacred Harp. These southern folk tunes embody and express a haunting spirituality, affording a uniquely American interpretation of the Passion narrative.
