In this Race and Difference Colloquium, Mary Barr will discuss her book - Friends Disappear: The Battle for Racial Equality in Evanston - which offers a detailed account of the city’s 1960s and 70s civil rights history. It also examines the impact of race and social class on the lives of an interracial group of friends who grew-up in the city during the period.
