It’s hard to believe something good came out of this scorching hot summer, but something good sure did. In VENT, Peter Bahouth explores the heat through stereoscopic photography. A style of photography where people look at two nearly identical side by side pictures in a viewer, stereoscopic photography cuts the observer off from the outside world and immerses them in the world of the image. Bahouth designs his own viewing stands, incorporating sculptures, signage, and sound into his art as an invitation to look. In his latest exhibition, the former executive director of Greenpeace USA and the Ted Turner Foundation explores our increasingly hot planet and the threat climate change poses to it as well as Bahouth’s personal transition from advocate to artist.
