The effects of the Oakland warehouse fire tragedy continue to resonate across the country. This MOMradio holiday party, showcasing the depth of Atlanta’s dance music scene, doubles as a fundraiser for Oakland fire relief efforts. TWINS, the solo one-man act led by Matt Weiner of DKA Records, creates slow and hypnotic rhythms with sparse instrumentation and hazy electronic effects to create a dreamlike state in songs such as “The Empty Deep.” Other numbers such as “Dead and Forgotten” juxtapose pulsating beats with brooding tones and a gothic voice to create dance floor classics.
