Sunday October 11, 2015 08:00 PM EDT
Cost: $10 for members; $20 for non-members,

From the venue:

We'll be looking at a work often acclaimed as the greatest opera ever written, Mozart’s and da Ponte’s “Don Giovanni.” Da Ponte, probably drawing on his own picaresque life, creates a Don both affable and cruel. But it is Mozart’s score that transforms a stock character from a 17th-century Spanish morality play into the flawed, contemptable, and tragic Don the world knows. There are so many facets to the Don, open to so many interpretations, that there will likely never be a truly definitive portrayal. No pre-existing knowledge of music required.
