An afternoon lecture and demonstration of dance and music from Indonesia.Featuring the Emory Gamelan Ensemble, guest artists I Made Lasmawan (drums) and Ni Ketut Marni (dance) from Colorado College will demonstrate and discuss the social significance of traditional dance and music on the islands of Bali and Indonesia. In particular, this lecture will highlight how the Hindu epic the Ramayana has been depicted across these art forms in the Southeast Asian nation of Indonesia.
