Atlanta Freedom Bands present Music of the Far East

Eastern music meets Western instruments at Atlanta Freedom Bands’ upcoming “Music of the Far East” concert. The band will embark on a musical tour that includes works from Japan, China, Korea, Indonesia and Singapore. The concert features special guest and shakahachi flute master Ray and concert host Dr. Yayoi Everett, Professor of Music at Emory University. The program features works that explore the variety of each country’s musical cultures, including centuries-old folk songs, native instruments such as the taiko drum and gamelan, and even modern pieces such as a score from ones of the most popular anime films.
