Connecting Communities: A Walk for Refugee Girls’ Education

The Connecting Communities Walk, hosted by the Global Village Project, begins at 10 a.m. at the Clarkston Community Center on May 10. The 4.4-mile walk ends at Decatur Presbyterian Church, where GVP is housed. Community members are invited to walk in support of refugee girls’ education. To register to walk, please visit www.uruut.com/projects/430. The registration fee for students is $15 and $25 for everyone else. For information, email Rachel Stanley at rachelstanley at globalvillageproject.org.GVP is a nonprofit, special-purpose middle school serving refugee girls who have had interrupted schooling. GVP relies on donations to support its educational programs.
