Atlanta Rollergirls July Bouts

The Atlanta Rollergirls’ July bouts are going down this Saturday at the Yaarab Shrine Center Auditorium on Ponce de Leon Avenue. The first bout starts at 5 p.m. and is sure to pack a punch. Coming off a big win against Arch Rival Roller Girls in June, Atlanta’s Dirty South Derby Girls (DSDG), ranked 13th in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), are taking on the No. 18 Naptown Roller Girls from Indiana. These two teams haven’t met since Naptown narrowly beat the DSDG at the 2012 WFTDA Championships — by 16 points. Then DSDG will be looking to return the favor. The Apocalypstix and the Denim Demons (both from Atlanta) will face off during bout 2 at 7:30 p.m. The Demons dominated the last time these two teams met, but the newly stacked Apocalypstix aren’t messing around. Keep an eye on new blocker Madditude Adjustment and jammer the Boss as they join Rudy Huxtabrawl, Slamborghini, and more on the battlefield. The bouts are BYOB so plan accordingly or you’ll go thirsty.
