On the anniversary of the Battle of Atlanta, writer/comedian and amateur historian Brian Bannon curates a look at Atlanta in 1864. A montage of historic and contemporary photos depict the city’s war-ravaged or war-remembered landscape. Civil War songs from early cylinder recordings provide a scratchy soundtrack. And readings from period newspaper and magazine articles, letters and memoirs trace the year from January, when Atlanta was still a Confederate boomtown, to December, when it was in ashes. Photos and sounds from 7-11 p.m. Performance at 8.
