Moby-Dick

Saturday May 11, 2013 08:00 PM EDT
Cost: $25

From the venue:

Calling Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick; or, The Whale the greatest American novel isn’t that unusual. Yet, the novel’s deeply experimental structure and style is usually ignored in favor of praising the adventure story of Ahab searching for a white whale, just as people typically get the title wrong and call it Moby-Dick. It is heartening, then, to see Atlanta’s experimental theatre troupe Saïah attempt to stage an immersive adaptation of it in the Lifecycle Building Center, opening Wed., April 10. Perhaps it’ll convey the novel’s deeply American weirdness.
