The Alabama Crimson Tide takes on the Virginia Tech Hokies for the first glorious game of the college football season. Everything about this is good football fun, except for Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy’s close-minded views on gay rights. That’s not fun. Or cool. Bama’s the top-ranked team in the nation. Expect some fireworks from senior quarterback A.J. McCarron, who led the team to the national championship last year. Virginia Tech may struggle to keep this from being a bloodbath. CL tip: Unless you’re supplying the tailgate vehicle, take MARTA or risk missing the game entirely while sitting in Atlanta’s Labor Day Weekend traffic.
