Growing mushrooms at home is simple. In this class you will learn the ‘dowel spawn method’ of growing gourmet mushrooms on logs outdoors. In addition we will discuss mushroom biology and ecology, general mushroom culture methods and how to prepare and store your mushrooms. And, just for a bit of culinary fun, you can sample a delicious mushroom snack!Participants will go home with one outdoor mushroom log made while in the class. Logs produce in 6 months to 1 year after inoculated and continue to yield for several years.
