MOVING PICTURE CLAIRE WITH LIVE MUSIC QUARTET
”...UTTERLY CHARMING, EVEN POIGNANT VIEWING EXPERIENCE.” - Variety Magazine
Shot on a 1920s hand-crank camera, CLAIRE (2001) is loosely based on the ancient Japanese fable KAGUYAHIME, most recently made into the animated feature THE TALE OF PRINCESS KAGUYU (2013). This silent version tells the story of a charming elderly male couple in the rural 1920s South (JIM FERGUSON and MISH P. DeLIGHT ) that find an enchanted girl from the moon (TONIET GALLEGO) and adopt her as their own.
This is the premiere of the long-awaited music quartet adaptation by Brian Mitchell of Anne Richardson’s original score, performed LIVE. The Atlanta-made CLAIRE has toured internationally with its larger 11-piece live orchestral score, opening film festivals in Milan, Brussels, Montreal, and various US cities.
This special presentation will benefit the Atlanta Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence grant fund.
