Park Tavern Hosts WRFG 89.3 FM Radios’s 34th Annual Labor Day Blues & BBQ

Featured headliner is award winning, Alligator Records recording artist, Selwyn Birchwood.  Selwyn has won numerous awards in his young career, including capturing the 2013 International Blues Challenge.  The Labor Day lineup also includes .… gifted guitarist and drummer Larry Griffith, who was just featured in Living Blues Magazine….prolific singer/songwriter Bill Sheffield along with drummer Sandra Senn…. and Eddie 9V, led by talented, 22 year old Brooks Mason.

WRFG is proud to dedicate our 34th annual Blues Barbecue to one of the best known trombonists in the blues, Lil Joe Burton, who will perform with the rousing Atlanta Horns.  Lil Joe is celebrating 55 years as a professional musician and has toured with B.B. King, Junior Wells, Mudcat, and many others.

The Park Tavern is located on the edge of <st1:place w:st=”on”><st1:placename w:st=”on”>Piedmont <st1:placetype w:st=”on”>Park, right at the corner of <st1:street w:st=”on”><st1:address w:st=”on”>Tenth Street and <st1:street w:st=”on”><st1:address w:st=”on”>Monroe Drive.  Doors open at noon and the music will run from 1:00 ‘til 8:00 PM.  Tickets are $25 at the door, with advance tickets on sale for $18 at wrfg.org…..  Kids 12 and under are free.  Proceeds benefit your community radio station, WRFG Atlanta…. 89.3 FM.
