Gallery Opening: Visions of Sound and Senses

The show features abstract expressions of mood, music and movement and escape from an always-on, ultra-plugged-in life. A playlist will be available for download on iTunes so attendees can listen to the music the artist experienced while painting each piece. The show runs from 9/22 - 9/30. Jennifer Jones-Mitchell experiments with drip, scrape and multiple layered techniques to create depth in her paintings that evoke a mix of memory and dream. Her aim is to infuse mood and movement in every piece and she creates rich layers that pull the viewer into the experience. A native of Marietta and graduate of Oglethorpe University, Jennifer lives in Decatur with her husband, composer David Mitchell.
