This lecture is presented as part of the exhibition “Stories Without an End: Power, Beauty and Wisdom of Women in African Art of the Mehta Collection” on view through April 21, 2019.

Dr. Hellman is the Curator of African Art for the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University and is the lead curator for the current OUMA exhibition Stories Without an End: Power, Beauty and Wisdom of Women in African Art of the Mehta Collection. In recent years she has taught art history courses at OU as an adjunct professor. Before transitioning to Atlanta to purse her doctoral degree, Dr. Hellman worked in administration with the Williams College Museum of Art in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
