Voices Out Loud: Finding Your Honest Best Reading Voice

Saturday February 16, 2019 12:00 PM EST
Cost: Free-$20

From the venue:

Who are you out loud? We will talk about approaches to reading out loud, and participants will have the opportunity to read their own work out loud and receive feedback from the group. Please bring a short poem (or prose piece) of your own to read from! We’ll talk about finding your reading style, how to plan for your own readings, and how to host others. There will be time for any questions you may have about how to put your truest, best voice forward.

Sandra Meek is the author of five books of poems, An Ecology of Elsewhere (Persea Books, 2016), Road Scatter (Persea Books, 2012), Biogeography, winner of the Dorset Prize (Tupelo 2008), Burn (2005), and Nomadic Foundations (2002). Her sixth, Still, is forthcoming from Persea in January 2020.
