Cost: Free- $14.50
An exhibition dedicated to the curation approach of art pioneer Duncan Phillips, who opened the first modern art museum in the United States in 1921. Phillips saw his museum as a sort of “experiment station,” where he championed diverse and independent artists in an attempt to earn European modernism a wider audience. Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Expressionist, and Cubist art were among the styles showcased at the museum. Opens April 6. Through July 14.
