1979 — the musical landscape continued to move at a rapid pace since punk’s origins just a few years earlier. Post punk and new wave now dominated the aural fabric of underground music.In Atlanta the leading venue for that underground music, at that time, was the Agora Ballroom (located in the grand ballroom of the Georgian Terrace) and the “Only Band that Mattered” made their first Atlanta appearance at the Agora in October 2, 1979.
