With “Modern Hearts”, Paul McDonald brings a new flavor of alternative rock with southern swagger. An album delivered by a fiery lead vocal and self-penned lyrical prose that brings emotional depth to hooks and honest songwriting. An Alabama-born and East Nashville-based artist, Paul McDonald has been a veteran of the music scene for a little over 10 years. Paul’s unique style of music has garnered international attention leading to major tours and performances around the world with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Zac Brown, Father John Misty, etc. and has independently played festivals such as Bonnaroo, SXSW, Hangout Festival, etc. Appearances on television shows include The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, and Live With Kelly. After years of touring and recording music independently, releasing multiple albums and EP’s with different bands, he’s launching his first ever solo endeavor. Over the past 3 years Paul has spent writing hundreds of songs and perfecting his own sound.
