Clay Babies, The Irish Brothers
From the venue:
This month: Clay Babies and The Irish Brothers. Clay Babies is a husband-wife song-writing duo from the North Georgia mountains. They sing and play original songs and a variety of genres including folk, country, Celtic, Americana, and Appalachian old-time. Their instruments include guitar, fiddle, mandolin, Irish bouzouki, tenor banjo, 5-string Appalachian claw-hammer banjo and harmonica. The Irish Brothers — George Hergen and Sandy Flynn — may be Atlanta’s most popular and proficient performers of the beloved genre of traditional Irish music the Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem introduced to the American Folk Revival. Their music practically maps the Irish cultural integration into the “new country” – from traditional Irish ballads to original songs of love, drinking, revolution and redemption. Presented by Atlanta Area Friends of Folk Music (AAFFM).
