Pianist Stephen Hough, “a virtuoso who begins where others leave off” (Washington Post), has been delighting ASO audiences for years. Not only is he a great performer, he’s an acclaimed composer and writer, becoming the first classical artist to receive the MacArthur Fellowship in 2001. In 2014, he was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). Here, he brings his commanding presence and perfectionism to Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 4, one of the composer’s most popular concertos.
