Rusty Wright at Blind Willies

CRITIC’S PICK: The Rusty Wright Band, Blind Willie’s—Just one look at roots rocking guitarist Wright, with his snow white shoulder-length hair and matching beard, and you can imagine he’s seen his share of barroom stages. That he surely has, playing across America and even internationally for over 15 years. This is one of his few times at Willie’s and it’s likely to be a highlight of October’s schedule. Wright will feature music from Hangin’ at the Deville Lounge, a concept album about characters that frequent the titular club, a real joint in his hometown of Flint, Michigan. He blends blues, rock, Americana and even some jazz into an intoxicating and exciting mix sure to sizzle at the intimate venue. — Hal Horowitz
