Join us on the third Saturday of each month this fall (September-November) for an enriching walking tour led by Robert Thompson of Insight Cultural Tourism. The tour begins at 9:30 AM in the front yard of The Wren’s Nest and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Afterward, return to The Wren’s Nest at 11:00 AM for an exclusive house tour led by one of our knowledgeable guides.
Learn about significant people, places, and events in the West End, from the history of indigenous people before European settlement to the present day. We’ll pass by The Shrine of the Black Madonna, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Hammonds House Museum, and more. After exploring the neighborhood, you can take a deep dive into the life and home of Joel Chandler Harris, one of the West End’s most famous residents during his lifetime.
