Poem 88 doesn’t exhibit the biggest names in Atlanta or have the highest profile, but it has cultivated a core audience that keeps returning. And for good reasons that go beyond the typical exhibition: There is heady experimental music by groups such as Chamber Cartel, soulful folk performances, small-press books in the shop, and film screenings of art house favorites. When the programming coincides it creates an opportunity for the audience to look at the work on the walls in a new light, to see the connections between inspiration and action. Poem 88 is temporarily closed until mid-May when it will re-open in a new space at 1170 Howell Mill Road.
