Art and Margo Rosenbaum opening at Emory tonight

Emory’s Hunt Gallery will open an exhibit of work from Art and Margo Rosenbaum tonight. Art Rosenbaum, professor emeritus at UGA, is perhaps best known for his work documenting and recording rural music for the past fifty years. His paintings often depict characters and musicians from that search.

Art’s wife Margo is an accomplished documentary photographer whose black and white images illustrate decades of rural, often little-known musicians.

The Hunt Gallery exhibition will select paintings, drawings, and photos from the Rosenbaum’s body of work. An unreleased film by Art and Margo’s son Neil Rosenbaum, Sing My Troubles By: Georgia Women Carrying on Folk Music Traditions will be screened at 7 pm at the Williams Hall Auditorium. More details can be found at the Emory/Oxford College website.
